.:BEAUTY TIP TUESDAY:. 4 Ways To Recover From A Bad Breakout

Sometimes it’s inevitable to avoid those unsightly skin issues like blackheads, whiteheads or rosacea. Pimples and breakouts are also known for having bad timing too. Therefore, if you find yourself dealing with a bad breakout, here are 4 tips on how to recover:

1) Change Is Good

Change your pillow cases, scarves, wraps or anything you’ve been using that has probably collected oil and dirt over the past few days. Start a routine that as often as you wash your hair, you should wash your pillow cases, scarves, etc. So if you wash your hair every other day or once a week, follow suit with the rest.

2) Reflect

Think back on your diet over the past few days. Have you been stressed out and overeating? Have you been indulging in one too many soft drinks/carbonated beverages? Are you honestly drinking 6 to 8 glasses per water per day? Are you taking your daily vitamins? And so on. If you’re lacking and slacking in some of these areas, do all that you can to get back on track.

3) Breathe

Let your skin breathe. You may be tempted to pack on the makeup to cover up your blemishes and scars but actually you need to do the opposite. Go bare for a few days so your blemishes can fully heal and any medication that you apply can work to its full potential. If you MUST wear makeup, put on a very and I do mean very light layer of foundation. Upon returning home, immediately cleanse skin and apply medication or other healing agents.

4) Professional Help

If you don’t already have a skin care regimen that you kick into gear post breakouts, I suggest you see a dermatologist or skin care specialist. If you don’t have health insurance and/or can’t afford to see a dermatologist, take a trip to a dermatolgy office to see if they will give you some free pamphlets with information. Your local pharmacy or even a small family owned pharmacy may be beneficial to visit as well. Choose a time to call/go by when it’s not super busy and you never know, you may be able to get some free samples too!

Whatever you do, don’t pick it your blemishes or give up hope that your skin will improve. There are so many causes to breakouts that it can definitely be a process to pinpointing your ultimate cause. Be patient, seek help and continue to be diligent about keeping your skin at its best.
